Chain of Hope came across this chained up Bassett who was really in pathetic shape. He was very underweight and dehydrated. The owners were blatantly negligent so they relinquished him to Chain of Hope. We named him Carson. He was shy, sick and very sad.
We got him settled at Chain of Hope and was he ever starving! He ate and drank a lot and then slept a lot. He actually did that for about 3-4 days. Like I’ve said before, our dogs often do that when they come in out of hellholes or off the street. They are exhausted from just surviving.
Check out the difference in this dog! Chain of Hope kept Carson for about 2 mo. until we got him on his feet and then we transferred him to Wayside Waifs. It didn’t take long for Carson to find his forever home with a family that had another Basset. Have a GREAT life, Carson-you deserve it!
Thanks for keeping Chain of Hope going!
