We received a call regarding another small dog in KCK that was matted horribly-much like Oscar. The call was that the dog was out 24/7, was matted and filthy. Our volunteers went over, talked with the owner and came back with Maci. Poor little Maci. The vet thinks she is about 6 yrs. old. She has probably suffered like this for a very long time.
We took Maci over to our favorite place-The Humane Society of Greater KC. They put her under, shaved her and spayed her while she was out of it. Thankfully, she is heart worm negative. Maci is a Chihuahua/Doxie mix, weighing about 10 lbs. She is adorable and we have transferred her to Furry Kids Refuge, another rescue group that helps us out when they can. Thank you, Furry Kids, for all the dogs you’ve taken from Chain of Hope and placed into wonderful homes-you’re the best!
Thanks for your donations! We are putting them to good use and helping many, many animals who otherwise would have no help. Many times, no one would even know they’re back there sitting in a backyard suffering. But Chain of Hope is out there everyday-we are hitting it hard in this horrible heat. We have the best volunteers in the world-out in this heat day after day helping the neglected animals in Kansas City. Thanks for keeping us out there! Have a great life, Maci!
